First Roof Truss Set at the Kalamazoo Event Center, Marking a Major Construction Milestone
Construction on the Kalamazoo Event Center reached an exciting milestone this week as the project’s first roof truss was successfully lifted and set into place. This marks the beginning of the building’s vertical transformation and a significant step forward in bringing the highly anticipated venue to life.
Each 100,000-lb truss is assembled in the bowl of the arena and then lifted into place. Using a large crane, construction crews carefully positioned the steel truss, one of many that will form the backbone of the Event Center’s roof structure. The process requires precise coordination and is a clear sign of the rapid progress happening onsite.
Once completed, the Kalamazoo Event Center will serve as a hub for sports, concerts, community events, and entertainment, bringing new energy and economic activity to downtown Kalamazoo.
Construction will continue through the winter months as additional trusses are set and structural framing continues. We’re grateful for the entire team working to bring this project to life.
Follow along for updates as the Kalamazoo Event Center continues to rise.
