From the Ground Up: Kalamazoo Event Center 2025 Construction Recap

As we close out the year, construction at the Kalamazoo Event Center continues to hit major milestones, marking a year of steady progress and visible transformation across the site. What once lived on blueprints is now rising into view, with key structural achievements shaping the future of this downtown landmark.

In 2025, all parking deck foundations were completed, with Blocks 1 and 2 fully topped out at all nine levels. Foundations were also finalized along the western end of the Practice Ice Area, and roof truss placement began for the Practice Basketball Court, another clear sign of forward momentum.

One of the most exciting moments of the year came with the setting of the first 100,000-pound roof truss for the Main Arena. This milestone marked a major step in bringing the venue’s scale and presence to life and showcased the incredible coordination and craftsmanship behind the build.
